Adult Inpatient Programs

Our programs allow each individual to gain the education and skills needed to manage their symptoms, problem solve, recognize life stressors and cope effectively with their illness.

Patients also find help and healing though medication management, interaction with those in similar situations and learning to verbalize their feelings through support groups.

Patients who are either in danger of harming themselves or others, or in need of inpatient detox from drugs or alcohol receive 24-hour nursing supervision for side effects and an intensive treatment regimen, including medication management by a psychiatrist.

The goal of adult inpatient mental health treatment is to, of course, treat mental illness and promote mental health. One out of five people suffer from diagnosable mental illnesses, and our mental health center provides inpatient treatment for adults for almost all, including:

  • PTSD Treatment: Including a military program for service members
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Including an inpatient treatment program designed for trauma
  • Depression Treatment: Including major depressive disorder
  • Anxiety Treatment: Including social anxiety disorders and panic disorders
  • Bipolar Disorder Treatment
  • Psychosis Care
  • And more

Adult Mood Disorder Program

Our Mood Disorder Program addresses the needs of people with mood disorders with specialized and tailored programming. Programming is individualized and focuses on the targeted symptoms of each disorder.

The Mood Disorder Program utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to meet the specific needs of each patient.

Substance Use Disorder Program

The treatment approach to substance abuse has to be as unique and individualized as the person being treated.

At Laurel Ridge, we use the Gorski-Cenaps Model throughout adult inpatient substance abuse treatment, which is an evidenced based treatment modality that focuses on relapse prevention, recovery, addiction, mental illness and health and wellness. Components of this treatment approach include: biopsychosocial model of addiction, the development model of recovery and relapse management.

Additional Therapeutic Modalities

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Addresses issues that result from trauma, abuse and neglect such as panic attacks.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Appropriate for patients with Depression, Anxiety, Conduct Issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Behavioral Modification needs, Emotional Disorders and ADHD. CBT has been especially useful in treating depression and the symptoms of depression.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Focuses on Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance Skills, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Mindfulness. Beneficial for patients with: Personality Disorders, Impulsivity, Interpersonal Conflict, Anxiety, Self-harm behavior and Suicidal Ideation.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Focuses on goal setting, determining motivation, problem solving and resiliency building.

ElectroConvulsive Therapy (ECT)

ECT is one of the best established treatments available for chronic psychiatric conditions. ECT has proven to be successful for patients who are unresponsive to traditional therapy and medication, and is a safe and effective treatment for relief of severe mental illness, including depression, mania, acute psychosis and persistent suicidal thoughts.*

*Individual results may vary. There are risks associated with any medical procedure. Talk with your doctor about these risks to find out if electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is right for you.
