Visitation
Family involvement is an important aspect of the treatment process. Families are encouraged to visit, call or Zoom throughout their loved one’s stay. There are two visitors allowed on unit, per patient, at a time. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed on the unit and a parent or guardian must accompany any children between the ages of 13 and 17 years old when brought onto the unit.
Please Note: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, special precautions have been taken to protect the health of your loved one. As a result, in-person visits have been temporarily changed. For children, in person visitation is allowed on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Adult visitation is allowed on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Calls and Zoom visits with your child remain in place and are highly encouraged.
Telephone Use
The patient is allowed one incoming call and one outgoing call during these times. Exceptions to phone times can be discussed with medical professionals. Calls are limited to ten minutes and the call will automatically disconnect at this time.
Patient confidentiality is important at Laurel Ridge. Therefore, patients are assigned a patient code upon admission (see front page for code). All callers must provide the patient’s code in order to have contact with the patient on the phone or to gain information from staff when calling into the unit, in order to protect patient confidentiality. Information on a patient cannot be given to anyone who calls without the code.
Patients have the right, per patient rights, to speak to whomever they choose during the specified phone times. However, phone contacts and calls can be limited via a doctor’s order if a question of patient safety were to arise.
