Residential Treatment

Residential Treatment

Laurel Ridge’s highly specialized intensive residential programs provide 24-hour care to a broad spectrum of children and adolescents ages 8-17. We combine proven traditional treatment and evidence-based modalities to build resilient, inspired, strong and empowered children and adolescents. At Laurel Ridge Treatment Center, our experience has been that children have a much better chance to maintain recovery when they are provided with a structured trauma-informed treatment program that is longer than acute hospitalization can provide.

Our TRICARE-certified program for children and adolescents of service members treats mental health and behavioral issues, while also addressing problems that are unique to dependents of service members.

Residential treatment includes:

  • Academic attendance at onsite University of Texas-affiliated charter school
  • 24-hour nursing supervision
  • Medication management by a psychiatrist (when indicated)
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Family therapy, onsite and remote
  • Mindfulness, yoga and art therapy
  • ROPES Course and recreation therapy groups
  • Discharge planning
  • Staff trained in trauma and behavioral interventions using TBRI Skills (Trust Based Relational Interventions)
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy
  • Trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
