Adult Substance Use Disorder Program: Mission Vista

Laurel Ridge Treatment Center’s Adult Recovery Program, Mission Vista, is dedicated to treating both addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Mission Vista’s motivational approach, incorporating 12-Step principles, has garnered advancement in recovery rates. Because of these improvements, our program has earned recognition for effective patient-centered care that preserves the dignity of our patients and improves their quality of life. At Laurel Ridge Treatment Center, we know that addiction is not a character deficiency or moral weakness.

Our treatment program also has the flexibility and focus to address whatever stage of recovery our patient is in, even if the stage of mental health recovery does not match with the stage of addiction recovery. The use of motivational services based on the patient’s stage of readiness will promote engagement, retention and solid long-term recovery outcomes. This sets our program apart from other treatment options.

Laurel Ridge Treatment Center utilizes the Gorski-CENAPS® Relapse Prevention and Denial Management program. We adhere to principles and practices that increase recovery rates, reduce relapse rates, and reduce the length and severity of relapse episodes, should they occur.

Phases of Treatment Include:

  • Comprehensive Assessment – Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation that becomes the foundation for an individual’s personal treatment plan.
  • Detoxification – When deemed necessary, a patient will undergo the effective and safe management of withdrawal from alcohol and drugs in an inpatient setting before proceeding with treatment.
  • Rehabilitation – The main phase of treatment: this involves completion of a treatment plan, which generally includes group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and activity therapy. A daily schedule includes focused goal-setting, group therapy and educational groups in which individuals address the issues that have disrupted their lives.
  • Continuing Care –  Provide a comprehensive and continuing system of support after discharge. This involves ongoing access to the hospital staff, continuing individual and group therapy sessions, family support and referral to monitoring or an AA/NA program.

Mission Vista effectively uses science-based methods for the application of the biopsychosocial model of addiction, the developmental model of recovery, and relapse management including denial management, relapse prevention counseling and relapse early intervention
